Urban Oreganics Product Review
(oreganics): Oregon + Organics
Being in the business of babies, we get questions about other healthy and sustainable products we might suggest. Our moms (and daddios) want the best for their little ones so we are always on the lookout for products that we can suggest you check out.
I recently heard of this brand Urban Oreganics and found out they have baby skin care products as well as fun things for us adults.
Their products are handcrafted in small batches and packaged in recyclable containers. Each new product is tested on willing friends and family, never on animals. I logged on and immediately knew I had to try some of this. I'm a sucker for good packaging and I loved the clean minimal look and the products seemed amazing and got really good reviews.
So I set out and started to order some baby products so we could let you know what we thought.
I ordered the baby shampoo + body wash which came as a bar of soap with no harsh perfume smells made of calendula + oatmeal along with some other nice ingredients.
Next was the baby butter mainly because I couldn't pass up on something that sounded so luxurious. It works as a natural diaper rash cream and full body moisturizer and also recommended for moms. I love the feel of it. The butter is less creamy and goes on like a solid oil but doesn't leave skin feeling oily. It's very moisturizing and I highly recommend for adults or little babies.
Finally in the baby category, I ordered the baby oil and it is my favorite out of these products. Like the butter, it is not really oily. It quickly absorbs into your skin and has a very pleasant, very faint scent. Also the Urban Oreganics site is very educational throughout which I nerded out on. For example when reading about the oil I found out that massage has been shown to stimulate your baby's central nervous system and helps to reduce crying and fussiness, allowing your baby to sleep more peacefully. (What parent on earth doesn't want that)! Massage also causes your baby's heart rate and breathing slow down, leaving her (or him) instantly more relaxed! Not only does massage have physical benefits for your little one, but touch is the most powerful form of communication for babies.
But I didn't stop there. Being in the market for new skincare myself, I picked up some really cool self care items. So far I LOVE everything and it has made my whole routine more enjoyable and my skin isn't complaining either.
Again with the sucker for the packaging. I loved the idea of mixing up my own consistency of face wash with these Refresh Cleansing Grains and I liked that the powder would gently exfoliate my face. You can also add essential oils to the mixture for added benefits which I have not yet tried. The deal sealer for me was the fact I got to add on a little gold spoon to do my mixing with. Nerdy and probably not necessary because you can mix it in your hand but I could not resist and like I said earlier, it makes it WAY MORE FUN.
Then I spotted one of these jade facial rollers and had to try one because they help with puffiness and aging skin. It is like a mini massage for your face. LOVE IT.
The final product I picked out was the facial cream which I am most picky about moisturizer. My skin is dry and usually within a couple of days with a new moisturizer, I can tell if I just threw money down the drain. NOT WITH THIS. It is thick and does the job. Super happy with it.
So if you are looking for organic skincare for your little one or yourself (or a nice gift), head over to Urban Oreganics. It’s a great product and I truly do love the shopping experience as well. Very educational and the products will allow you to create your own mini spa experience at home.
